Heady architects purchase experiences in store, online, and through AI agents. We help brands sell goods and services to humans — in person and online — and increasingly, to and through the agents now shopping on their behalf. Our expertise spans everything that goes into making a purchase happen: the software and infrastructure behind it, the experience that enables it, and the loyalty that follows. Learn more about us at Heady.io. We’re a relationship-driven, craft-focused, and people-first company. Our clients trust us not just to execute, but to think alongside them—and we take that responsibility seriously.
Job Requirements:
Heady is looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Lead QA Business Analyst to join our team. In this position, you will own the quality assurance and testing of a cross-platform, custom e-commerce raffle system. You will be expected to coordinate across client, vendor, and internal teams to run thorough testing of our system for ongoing feature development. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proactive in coming up with solutions to not only improve the quality of our product, but also our testing process overall. The role is based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work model (Tuesdays & Wednesdays in the DUMBO, Brooklyn office).
What You’ll Do:
- Create and execute the testing strategy for an online raffle and inventory management system, including full-stack and API testing to independently uncover the root cause of issues.
- Lead weekly QA meetings and cross-functional standups, managing ticket assignments and keeping teams aligned on priorities and blockers.
- Coordinate test data acquisition across teams and manage defect prioritization according to business goals and release timelines.
- Translate business requirements documents (BRDs) into epics, tickets, and functional specification documents (FSDs); support testing and release coordination through feature delivery.
- Write clear, well-structured business requirements and convert them into detailed acceptance criteria.
- Initiate and maintain documentation — including release notes, FSDs, and feature documentation — in Confluence.
- Conduct competitive and feature analysis to identify experience gaps and propose solutions that improve product quality and the overall testing process.
- Diligently identify edge cases and write thorough test cases; manage test case execution and tracking using TestRail.
- Coordinate across the software development team and with Product Managers to test new and existing features.
- Contribute to backlog planning and participate in Product Manager-level strategic discussions and workshops.
- Help onboard new team members, orienting them to relevant tools, systems, and processes
- Support holiday readiness and provide on-call coverage via ZenDuty for emergency application support.
- Coordinate with client, vendor, and internal stakeholders — both technical and non-technical — across different time zones, including with offshore development teams.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or a foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job or related field. Education, training, or experience to include:
- Agile software development and backlog management (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Professional experience working across different time zones, including with a partial or full offshore development team.
- Strong familiarity with Consumer-facing mobile applications, including release management and distribution (Firebase App Distribution, Apple App Store, Google Play Store) and mobile
analytics/crash reporting (Firebase). - Experience with API testing using Postman, PAW, and RapidAPI, and proxy testing tool Charles Proxy.
- Experience with Salesforce OCAPI (Open Commerce API).
- Experience with the test case management platform TestRail.
