About the Role:
We’re looking for a freelance UX designer to conduct a comprehensive UX audit of an existing Android app used by warehouse employees who manage and fulfill automotive parts orders. The goal is to identify usability issues, accessibility gaps, and design improvement opportunities that can make the app more efficient, intuitive, and aligned with Material Design 3 guidelines.
This is a 5-week engagement with the potential to extend based on project needs.
We’re looking for someone to start immediately. This is a remote-friendly role - however, ET hours are required.
What You’ll Do:
-
Review and evaluate the app against Material Design 3 and Android accessibility standards
-
Conduct a Figma file review to assess design consistency, component usage, and adherence to design system principles
-
Analyze existing personas and user needs
-
Perform a product journey audit to identify friction points and inefficiencies in key workflows (e.g., order picking, tracking, and fulfillment)
-
Review existing product data to uncover usability patterns or problem areas
-
Recommend and prioritize UI/UX improvements, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility
-
Identify design opportunities that could streamline workflows or enhance user satisfaction
-
Create a Findings Report that synthesizes your insights, supported by visuals, examples, and actionable recommendations
Who You Are:
-
4+ years of experience in UX design, research, or product design
-
Proven experience conducting UX audits, heuristic evaluations, or design assessments
-
Deep understanding of Material Design principles and Android design patterns
-
Familiarity with WCAG / Android accessibility standards
-
Proficiency in Figma (file organization, components, and design systems)
-
Strong communication and presentation skills to synthesize findings for design and product teams
Nice to Haves:
-
Experience designing for enterprise, logistics, or warehouse operations environments
-
Background in UX research or service design
-
Ability to visualize opportunities through concept sketches or quick design mockups
What You’ll Get:
-
Competitive hourly rate (up to $80/hour) - paid fairly for the value and expertise you bring.
-
The chance to work with a talented global / remote-friendly team.
-
Flexibility - we trust you to manage your time and deliver without micromanagement.
-
Opportunities to grow your skills (and portfolio) by working on interesting, challenging projects that touch multiple areas.
-
A culture of kindness and support - you’ll be respected, heard, and part of a team that celebrates wins together.
